How to Get Free 3D Footage for Your Videos — Fast and Easy!

To be honest, I'm absolutely in love with video editing, and I always try to find some new cool features to help my videos stand out.

Today, I want to show how to get free 3D footage of cool places for your video — fast and easy! All we need are the Google Maps and Google Earth apps.

Let’s say you visited a nice beach or saw a beautiful building while traveling the world.

Step One: Locate the Place with Google Maps

Google Maps will help you find that place and get its correct name.

Step Two: View It in 3D with Google Earth

After you got the info, open the Google Earth app.

Now you can find the place you need and view it in 3D.

To get a nice video out of it, I used the built-in screen recorder and simply captured the 3D view. By default, the map will turn around nice and slowly whenever you switch between 2D and 3D mode.

Now you’ve got your footage! 🎉

With any video editing app — even your phone’s gallery — just crop it to your desired size.
